Journal Policy
GIMS Statement
All submitted manuscripts must conform to the policies and ethical standards established by GIMS. In all cases, GIMS closely follows the principles of publication ethics outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics, including its Core Practices guidelines. These principles provide guidance on matters such as conflicts of interest, authorship and contributorship disputes, research misconduct, data integrity, plagiarism, duplicate publication, and peer-review transparency. GIMS is committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical and professional scholarly publishing in Computer Science, Engineering, and related interdisciplinary research areas.
The Editorial Boards of GIMS journals operate independently, and the publisher does not interfere with editorial decision-making. However, in cases involving ethical, legal, or policy-related concerns, editorial decisions may be reconsidered, and the acceptance of a manuscript may be withdrawn if violations of ethical standards or journal policies are identified. Manuscripts that fail to comply with GIMS ethical guidelines may be rejected or withdrawn from the submission process by the publisher.
GIMS performs comprehensive screening and quality checks on all submitted manuscripts to ensure compliance with publication ethics and editorial standards. These checks may include plagiarism detection, authorship verification, citation analysis, image integrity assessment, and data validation, supported by automated screening systems and evaluated by editorial professionals. When potential concerns are identified, the matter is reviewed by qualified editors and, when necessary, by an Academic Editor or Editorial Board Member to ensure fair and transparent assessment.
General Peer Review and Editorial Procedure
All manuscripts published in GIMS journals undergo a rigorous and thorough peer-review process conducted by independent experts in the relevant fields. This process applies to research articles, review papers, invited submissions, and interdisciplinary studies.
Upon submission, the Managing Editor performs an initial technical assessment to evaluate the manuscript’s formatting, scope, originality, and compliance with journal policies. Suitable manuscripts are then assigned to an Academic Editor, who conducts an editorial pre-evaluation to determine the scientific relevance, novelty, and technical quality of the work.
The Editorial Office coordinates the peer-review process by inviting qualified independent reviewers with expertise in the manuscript’s subject area. Each manuscript is typically evaluated by at least two expert reviewers who assess the originality, methodology, technical soundness, significance, clarity, and overall contribution of the research.
To ensure transparency and maintain effective communication with authors, the journal provides structured editorial feedback and reviewer comments throughout the review process. Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewer recommendations, and additional rounds of peer review may be conducted when necessary to ensure the quality and accuracy of the published work.
The final publication decision is made by the Academic Editor, Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board Member, or Guest Editor responsible for the manuscript. Accepted articles undergo professional copy-editing, language editing, formatting, and final quality checks before publication to ensure clarity, consistency, and academic excellence.
Open Access & Funding
Open Access Policy
All articles published by GIMS journals follow a gold open access publishing model, ensuring that all published research is freely and permanently accessible online immediately upon publication. This model supports the unrestricted dissemination of knowledge in Computer Science, Engineering, and related interdisciplinary fields, allowing researchers, practitioners, educators, and the general public to access, read, download, and cite scholarly work without subscription barriers.
At the present stage, GIMS journals do not charge any Article Processing Charges (APCs) for manuscript submission, peer review, or publication. The complete publication process is currently supported by institutional resources and academic collaborations as part of GIMS’s commitment to advancing global scientific research and encouraging contributions from researchers worldwide, particularly early-career scholars and researchers from underrepresented regions.
The current funding model is sustained through institutional support and collaborative academic initiatives, while maintaining rigorous peer-review standards, high editorial quality, and strong ethical publishing practices. Any future modifications regarding APCs or funding policies will be communicated clearly and transparently to authors in advance.
Funding of APCs and BPCs
Many research funding agencies, universities, and academic institutions permit the use of research grants to support Article Processing Charges (APCs) and Book Processing Charges (BPCs) for open access publishing. Authors seeking further information regarding APC or BPC funding opportunities are encouraged to contact the Editorial Office.
Discounts and Waivers
Waivers or discounts on APCs may be granted at the discretion of the publisher and should be discussed with the Editorial Office during manuscript submission. Editorial decisions are made independently of an author’s financial capability, and all submissions are evaluated solely on the basis of scientific quality, originality, and technical merit.
GIMS may also provide discount vouchers or publication support programs for selected reviewers, academic collaborators, and affiliated institutions. Authors associated with participating universities or academic partnerships may receive publication discounts in accordance with institutional agreements and journal policies.
Benefits of Open Access for Authors and Readers
The open access publishing model offers several important benefits to both authors and readers, including:
- Free and unrestricted access to published research without subscription or paywall barriers.
- Immediate online availability of articles upon publication without embargo periods.
- Greater visibility, accessibility, and citation potential for published research.
- Authors retain copyright ownership of their work.
- Permission for reuse and distribution under applicable open access licensing policies, provided proper attribution is given.
